$63-million project for Spain

DuPont Safety & Construction, maker of DuPont Nomex, has announced it will complete the addition of Nomex filament yarn capacity at the DuPont Asturias site in Spain. This decision marks a total project investment of more than $60-million. This investment decision supports strong market demand, with plans for product commercialisation in early 2019. Nomex is a heat- and flame-resistant fibre used to help provide protection to millions of people and critical processes worldwide. The Nomex filament yarn project will support automotive hoses, protective apparel, fire service and aerospace needs. Safety and Construction, a business unit of DowDuPont Specialty Products Division, is a global leader in products and solutions that protect people, structures and the environment, and produces  brands including Corian, Kevlar, Nomex, Tyvek, Styrofoam and Filmtec.
