Addressing practical skills training in industry

Global energy management and automation company Schneider Electric South Africa has signed a statement of intent with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to expand the company’s Access to Education training collaboration. Schneider Electric South Africa’s Access to Education speaks to the need for practical skills development within the field of energy. The company has provided energy education to almost 9000 people since 2012 and  will, in the next four years, increase this to 30 000 people including students, community members, entrepreneurs and teachers. Working towards the promotion of vocational training and training for trainers, the collaboration will focus on student and staff development, as well as on curriculum and programme development.
