African clean energy company debuts on JSE

The JSE’s first black-empowered clean energy group, AEP Energy Africa (AEP), recently debuted on the exchange as a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). The Pan African group is the first in South Africa to expose investors to the full spectrum of clean energy, beyond renewables only, with liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the core of its future operations.

AEP will target energy-intensive corporates and utilities with energy solutions that are affordable, reliable, safer, and clean.  Leveraging management’s expertise and track record in energy project development, the group will acquire, redevelop and operate a portfolio of assets in power generation, battery energy storage, power distribution and fuel logistics, driven in large part by LNG.
