[Carbon Tax] Are you prepared? The Carbon Tax is set to come into effect in 2019 (GCX advertorial)

A new start date, carbon offsets and what you can do to protect your business. Are You Prepared for the Carbon Tax
Finance Minister Tito Mboweni introduced the Carbon Tax Bill in the National Assembly yesterday. The Carbon Tax will now come into effect on the 1st of June 2019.
The first round of the tax is aimed at businesses and industries that emit a high level of greenhouse gases and that rely on fuel consumption to meet their energy requirements. Organisations that do not make attempts to reduce their carbon footprint will face penalties. The aim is to encourage a transition to a more sustainable, low-carbon future. How to reduce your carbon tax liability:
*Carbon Footprint Reduction*
The best strategy is always reducing your organisation’s carbon footprint as best as possible.
*Carbon Offsets*
The Carbon Tax Bill also allows for organisations to offset their carbon tax liability by 5 or 10 per cent of their total GHG emissions.
