Energy storage battery project gaining ground

Progress is continuing with the construction of a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) for Eskom.  Bushveld Energy has finished manufacturing the direct current portion of the VRFB, with factory acceptance expected during this month. The delivery of the entire system to the power utility is planned for the second quarter. Site preparation work, including earthworks and cabling, has begun at Eskom’s site, and two technicians have been appointed to perform installation and maintenance on the project. These technicians will be training at UniEnergy Technology, a VRFB manufacturer based in the United States. This will give the company the capability to install and maintain future installations locally and further afield.
