Engineering firm achieves Level 2 BBBEE status

Royal HaskoningDHV SA consulting engineers has achieved broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) Level 2 status. Salani Sithole, the company’s managing director, said he believes in actively focusing on transformation initiatives and practicing good corporate governance and ethics. Infrastructure development is at the core of the government’s national development plan for 2030 and in line with this, the company is actively involved in a number of government initiatives and plays roles in Consulting Engineers South Africa, the South African Institution of Civil Engineers, the South African Black Technical and Allied Careers Organisation and the Black Business Council. The company developed its Education Foundation to provide education initiatives in support of schools and corporate social responsibility activities. This includes the Saturday School initiatives which operate from six branch offices across South Africa. For young talents within the engineering industry, the company has the Young Professionals Forum, Y-RHDHV, which actively promotes the industry to bring positive change to society.
