The website also includes a policy tracker <energyfinancedatabase.org/#/tracker> that scores G20 country and MDB policies dealing with exclusions of oil, gas, and coal as well as βindirectβ public finance for fossil fuels.
Alongside the launch of the database we have published a briefing <priceofoil.org/finance-database-briefing> explaining why these flows matter, how to use the database, and how public banks could unlock a just transition if they werenβt so busy funding fossils.
The database – formerly called the Shift the Subsidies Database – was previously available by email request. It has been used widely by governments, academics, media, civil society groups, and intergovernmental organizations including BloombergNEF, Reuters, Energy Monitor, Nature, and Cambridge University. We invite you to continue to use it to ensure that governments make public finance work for a liveable future.
