The globally active solar mounting company Schletter Group will supply the mounting systems for the largest solar power plant in Vietnam. The plant in the south Vietnamese province of Ninh Tuan will generate over 200 MW of solar power, and is scheduled for completion by 2020.
The solar power plant is to be built in the southern province of Ninh Thua, northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. It is the company’s first project in Vietnam and the largest in the country. The coastal location in hilly and steep terrain places high demands on the mounting system. In particular, it must have a flexible design and be particularly corrosion-resistant. For these reasons, the company’s tried and tested two-pillar system will be used. It has solid pile driven foundations made of hot-dip galvanised steel. A coating with a newly developed aluminium-magnesium-zinc alloy (SMAC coating) will provide additional corrosion protection. This will guarantee the substructure has high levels of stability and durability.
