Some news from 350Africa’s public finance campaign.

We’ve got some news from our public finance campaign that you’ve signed up to follow.
Last Wednesday, 350Africa.org and 5 partner organisations held a roundtable discussion with parliamentarians.
We wanted to tell them about how our public finance institutions are financing fossil fuels and contributing to climate change instead of increasing their support for a just transition to renewable energy. It is often not even possible to tell which projects institutions like the Development Bank of Southern Africa and the Industrial Development Corporation are investing our money in!
The event was a success, and we’re now busy following up with parliamentarians on our request that they exercise their parliamentary oversight of these institutions.
Please take a few minutes to read this article about the event , and then share it. If you’d like to know more, you can also read this blog or download this briefing [pdf] that we sent to parliamentarians ahead of the event.
Thank you for your support, and as always, we’d love your ideas and feedback on the campaign!
Onwards,
Glen and the 350Africa.org team
