Why offset your carbon as an individual?
Reducing your carbon footprint is a bit like re-cycling your waste – individually your efforts won’t make much difference globally, but if we all re-cycle it will make a huge difference.
So with reducing our own carbon footprints – if we all do it we will make a noticeable impact on global emissions. The idea is to first reduce our personal carbon footprints as much as we can by doing the obvious things such as reducing electricity use, re-cycling and driving less. Then we can further reduce our carbon footprints by buying carbon offsets from an emission reducing project – this will reduce overall carbon emissions while improving the lives of the project beneficiaries, creating jobs, and alleviating poverty.
