Climate action you can trust with real local impact.
Credible Carbon allows businesses and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint through audited projects that tackle the twin challenge of climate change and poverty in South Africa.
Every credit you purchase represents one tonne of CO2 avoided or removed, independently audited and permanently retired in our registry.
Offsetting is the final step. First, reduce what you can. Then offset what you cannot avoid.
Carbon offsetting enables individuals and organisations to compensate for their greenhouse gas emissions by supporting projects that reduce or remove an equivalent amount elsewhere. At Credible Carbon, that means investing in African projects that not only cut emissions but also create jobs, improve livelihoods, and protect the environment.
Carbon offsetting requires three parts to function:
A project that reduces or avoids emissions in a measurable, auditable way, for example through recycling, renewable energy, or improved efficiency.
Credible Carbon acts as the registry, working with independent carbon auditors to confirm that claimed emission reductions are real and measurable, then recording those verified credits transparently.
Individuals or companies who purchase carbon credits and retire them. Retirement permanently removes a credit from circulation. That act of permanent removal is what makes it an offset.
Every project claiming emission reductions undergoes independent verification by an approved auditor before any credits are issued.
If an audit fails, the project can rectify the issue and reaudit before any credits are issued.
From estimating your footprint to receiving proof of your offset, the process is straightforward.
The same process applies whether you are an individual, a business, or running an event.
Estimate your footprint, choose a verified project, and buy carbon credits.
